Lower back pain, is it hip related?

Lower back pain is one of the most common issues that I deal with and can have many causes. One often-overlooked source is the hips. Since the hips and lower back are closely connected, problems in the hip joint, muscles, or nearby structures can lead to pain that feels like it’s coming from your lower back. Understanding this connection can help with finding the right treatment and relief.
Common hip-related causes of back pain:
Hip arthritis: Can cause you to walk differently, straining your back.
Tight muscles: Especially in the front of the hip, can pull on your lower back.
Weak glutes: Can make your back work harder and hurt.
Sacroiliac (SI) joint issues: This joint connects your spine and pelvis and can cause pain in the lower back or hip.
Hip injuries: Sometimes the pain shows up in the lower back instead of the hip.
Massage, alongside Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and or Chiropractic work can be really effective in relieving hip-related lower back pain.
